Hi, thanks for the video. I just bought a few barberry bushes to plant. What did you use to backfill? I purchased tree and shrub soil. Do I backfill with that? Also will this shrub grow even though there are still tree roots from a tree I cut down in April nearby?. There are roots (maybe 1.5" in diameter) that I plan on sawing out with a saw. So there won't be any roots within the diameter of the hole. Will the shrub still grow???

Yes, what was the mix-in with the backfill? You mentioned it twice and both times the traffic noise drowned you out.

@DrSimmons100 Thanks! I have heard of it but I think its a zone 7 minimum? We are stuck in New England zone 5. Would love to have more of a plant pallet but we can only work with what survives!
