That tall green plant in the background is called Sylphium perfoliatum, commonly known as Cup Plant. It is a hardy perennial grown for it's dramatic size and foliage, as well as yellow flowers, similar to small sunflowers, that appear in late summer. It needs a lot of room to grow in the garden.

Yes, you can plant your Knock Out® tree in a large container. Depending on the size of your current container, you may need to upgrade to a bigger size as the tree grows. Be sure to keep it well watered and depending on where you live, you may need to bring the container inside over the winter.
