How to Overwinter Peppers
Tips, Tricks
Visit https://calikimgardenandhome.com to get your free growing guide, “Grow 3 Vegetables in 6 Weeks”. In this episode, I show three simple steps to overwintering peppers - both in the ground, (if you live in a mild climate), and in a container, (if you live in a climate that gets frost and snow). So easy to do, you can keep them going for years so you don't have to plant new seedlings every spring (unless your a pepper addict like me!) Thanks for the video. I did all my peppers in 2-3 gallon pots this summer, so when it started to turn cooler and leaves started dropping, I picked 2 of them to overwinter. I chose a Jalapeno and a Purple Beauty Bell. They are about 4' tall and I have them in my bathroom under a skylight. The only thing I wasn't sure about was how and when to prune them and how drastically.

I'll definitely be trying this with my Reaper, especially if it doesn't give me fruit soon. I ordered it too late and it takes a long time to mature. Thanks for the tips, Kim!

I just transplanted some peppers in my garden. The temperature has been up to 80s. Last night they dropped to 45. My pepper plant is drooping a little. Any suggestions to get it to pep back up? Now they are saying it might get down to 35 this weekend and I have all my transplants in the ground and some in raised beds. This weather is crazy here in South Carolina.
