How to Make Mint Plants 3-4 times more fragrant!
Tips, Tricks
Keeping your mint plant properly groomed will ensure the fragrant oils are flowing. Mint will loose its scent after a little while if it is allowed to grow woody. how long would it take for a single mint plant to spread about 8 feet

Thanks! I bought one plant three years ago and it quickly took over my 4x4 raised bed. They are out of control this year and 3-4feet high and starting to flower. They are beautiful, however, I just noticed the entire bottom 6-9inches is covered in yellow powder. It is dusty when I cut the plant back. Is is fungus and how can I treat it?- should I rip them all out or just cut it all back?

Yes, this is the right thing to do. I finally cut my jungle back for the meter reader after it had gown to flower. I would suggest letting it go to flower at least once in it's life. The bees and other insects will love you for it. About the time my first harvest was dry enough for smudge sticks, the next young thick crop was ready to harvest. Mint really is invasive although welcomed, and nothing short of roundup will eradicate it completely. Don't worry about over-harvesting this.

I had a question but no one knows what to do. I was looking to plant some honey dew I just don't know the most efficient way

Mint is also wonderful for babies with Colic. A bit of mint leaves boiled in water then strained and cooled. It calms the stomach and eases the pain they have.

Ha! I used mint as a ground cover along the side of our home so we do have quite a bit. Pruning and thinning makes a difference. Mine are under 6 inches of snow right now. Thanks for the tip!

We use to mow over the mint once a year. Great tip!
BTW, my son thought that you look a lot like Mike Catherwood. (The host of the game show, Chain Reaction). Let me know what you think!
Thanks again Luke!
