How to Make an Indoor Self Watering Container for Peppers
Tips, Tricks
With great success from my Chocolate Scotch Bonnet growing in this method, I've had many questions asking how I created the container. In this video, I'm going to show you how to make an indoor self watering bucket as well as show you the progress of the plant after 2 months. Please comment, subscribe, like and share! What's the point in putting perlite on top of the soil if it's for aerating the soil and improving drainage
-
Hey, this reminds me of DWC buckets but with soil. I'm curious how an air pump at the bottom would benefit this. Good vid!
-
How do you get ph balanced water around 5.5 - 6.0?
-
is that water reservoir working by evaporation if the roots have not reached the bottom of the pot ?
-
Khang. Ever use pumice instead of perlite?
-
Is a net cup not recommended for the indoor self watering container? Do you still recommend for the outdoor container?
-
I would think if the roots sitting in water constantly it will cause root rots.
-
Hot pepper growing pro, can I do this for my avocado plants?
-
How do you get "chocolate" peppers? Do you cross them?
-
Do u move or change buckets after u have pick peppers? And do u move them outside ur home anytime doing growth season? Thx u enjoy ur videos
-
They do make net pots for 5 gallon bucket's

I have a cayenne pepper that I've had since last year and I just transferred it to a larger bucket this week. Do you think I can start feeding it nutrients from the bottom (like in this video) once the roots grow long enough?
-
Your sound is so nice.Wanna see you for real . (^_^) I've started to grow bird pepper and sweet tomato by your method.I'm waiting for the seed growing.

Very informative videos. Thank you for sharing your interest and knowledge!

Hi Khang, can you do a video on how to make an indoor light source for the plants?
-
Love your videos. Clear, concise and to the point. My question. Since you know that the roots will extend into the reservoir without a netcup wick for the indoor system, do you still use the net cup in the outdoor version?
-
Is that a cyclone boys rubik´s cube? Hahahaha
-
Nice plant option, I have yet to try hydroponics, I'm from the old school of gardening, over 45 years. I would like to know what kind of lighting do you use.
Thank you

Thanks for this and all of your extremely helpful videos. My kids and I have a nice variety of peppers growing and we love your specific 2-bucket method described here. We've setup 3 gal. buckets that drop into 5 gal. buckets to form a slightly larger reservoir so hopefully when our plants grow bigger they can survive more than a few days without replenishment. We wanted to ask your opinion about what range of differences in the amount of water/nutrients can the plants handle without damaging the plant? i.e., Should we try to maintain exactly the same volume of nutrients in the bucket, or can the plant handle a few inches of up/down height differences?
