You should go to woodprix website if you'd like to make it yourself m8s.

I bought instructions from woodprix and I builded it very very cheap.

I really dont think thats enough oil.. maybe be better off if you used a deeper, buried container mate!

I meant to mention I use Diatomaceous Earth from Planet Natural (U.S. company) to help control them. It seems to help. But I believe I am also going to set up some of those traps as well. There is also a type of soil nematode that preys on ear wig larve - that I may try next year. I will just have to order those, mix them up and apply and try to get them established in the soil. But to you Aussies - earwigs must really seem like nothing. You have a lot more challenging snakes & spiders!!

Thank you for the helpful info!!

I am surprised all those birds I hear in your video don't eat the earwigs!
-
Yeah, I like Venus Fly Traps! Thanks for your message!

try venus flytraps and other carnivorous plants... the earth's greatest form of recyclers. i have vids of dozens if you want to see how they can do it.
-
Thanks. Will do this soon.

@stelle007 Haha you got bit by a roly-poly

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think what you call 'sow bugs' is what we in Australia call 'Slaters'. Glad you are catching some ear wigs. Hector

Hello. I'm from Australia so not entirely sure what sow bugs are. This trap in the vid uses oil that the earwigs are attracted to the scent of..then then they get trapped. If sow bugs like the smell of oil too... then you will get rid of them. Try it out and let me know! Hec.

Those earwigs run fast compared to the ones where I live.

Earwigs eat insect eggs, mites, fleas, larvae, and are great aphid predators. On the bad side they make holes in foliage, damage fruit and flower plants and attack young shoots and seedlings.
