HI; i have been looking for how this turned out? My brother walked by and scoffed because watermelon are so heavy; how did it turn out?

Great trellis idea! Are those 16' cattle panels?

I am going to build one over the summer for planting next year. What I am trying to decide is what wood/material/structure to use for the raised garden beds. I see you are using large squared timber of some sort. I want to be able to grow watermelon/squash on the sides and beans up the middle? Any thoughts or suggestions?

hi cali kim thinking ya may need ta try finding something ta spray the wire with so it doesn't get hot and burn the plants as they climb the wire

hi Cali kim, can you let me know which lowes carry the cattle panel you bought. I went to several lowes location near my house and they are not available . I lived in near Knotts berry farm... thank you.

I like it. I know it won't fit in our car. I won't grow watermelon though . Love your channel!

I grew my last lot up the neighbours fence then held them with stockings once they got heavy.
Great to see another idea that works.

You have a Laura craft / tomb raider vibe going on when you're installing the trellis at your house.

I've been wanting to build a green house out of cattle panels and wondered how I could haul them on my pick-up, now I see how, thanks. What type of wire was that you used to tie the panels to the rebar? Great video and idea.

What a great idea and great job on that trellis! 😀

Texasprepper2 made one out of cattle panel and I made mine from his idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DKlXs8iov0. Now instead of putting on plastic, I used it as a trellis for my beans, peas and tomatoes. Never used it for watermelon, but that is a good idea.

I love the pillared fountain (?) feature in the background. I'm going to check if you have posted a video on this. Super curious to get a closer look. Love how you have incorporated art and leisure into your beautiful garden.

The shade that you are speaking of will never allow for anything edible to grow under it. The leaves will block 90% of the light to sustain a plant. That is a good thing for the watermelon, but a sad thing for anything you decide to plant underneath. I was always hopeful for the co-planting of things, but have realized that a section of plants is for that plant. I wish you the best of luck in your garden. You have a great start!

Hello Kim,
Thanks for the information on the cattle panel. I am also going to build a water melon trellis. -
Your video is recent. Sigh - I don't think any Lowes has them anywhere within driving distance from me. Chicago area.
