This is an out door tree and does stay ever green in the winter, but stops growing. This conifer was a nursery stock purchased from a local supermarket and in this video I am showing step by step how to transform it into a beautiful bonsai tree. At the start it had very dense foliage and it had to be thinned carefully selecting branches for removal and those to retain for the over design of the tree. After thinning the foliage further refinement is carried out in branch selection and further branches are removed to refine the tree into a bonsai. The trunk and the branches are wired to complete the branch placement and start of building of the foliage pads. Beginners can learn to bonsai by following my videos, they contain the best bonsai tips and also teach care and maintenance of bonsai trees. The part 2 of this video link is below. In these videos this conifer has been made from a nursery stock into a shohin, mame bonsai tree. Any one, including beginners can follow these steps in conjunction with my other videos on bonsai basics, bonsai soil mix, preparing a bonsai pot with wire mesh over drainage holes and anchor wires and watering techniques, and have the same results which are shown in the two videos in on this tree Part 2 can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CYUaEfgKxY
