I learnt a few new things & confirmed a few other things, I do prefer staggering them also as dean did mention.

You need to stagger the turf like bricks !

Your very first piece of advice.." use glyphosphate to kill the grass and weeds".... Ive heard enough already... fool

Hey everyone. If you are laying Fescue or Blue Grass, yes you need to be more fussy. The Comments are right. But this is Nara Native turf. Tough as nails. Mowing warm season grasses will easily fix the small amount of unevenness. Buffalo (St Augustine in the USA), Couch (Bermuda in the USA), Kikuyu and Zoysia like Empire or Nara can be laid like this. The main thing is to water it well for the first few weeks. After a month it will look great, and then after fertiliser even better a month later.

But that yard is embarassing

We grow turf evetywhere

why do folk put themselves on show , then do a crap job ! personally ,once the ground is prepped we never walk on it .always always lay off planks and put stripes in.

Christ what a waste of effort. I would be embarrassed to have such a lumpy un-level newly sodded lawn.

Warm season turf is not as fussy as cool climate turf that is grown in the northern part of the USA. Lucky we are in Australia and don't have to put up with fussy cool season turf like Fescue etc. This is the right way to lay Warm season turf.

Don't listen to this guy! Butt the edges together. Don't walk on the turf Stagger your joints

This is the second foriegn video that shows the WRONG procedure. Must stagger your pieces! No wonder the best lawns are found in the USA.

haha... if i laid turf like he does...without planking and butting up the edges i would be kicked off site immediately. that really is a piss poor way to lay it .
