I like to tell mine not to even worry about flowering when they are still small. I remove the buds (before flowering) and remove the branch tips every 2-3 inches for increased bushiness. Basically telling the plant "Concentrate on foliage and building up your strength." Then at approximately football-size I stop removing the buds and let them go to town. And of course use the maintenance techniques you mentioned from that point onwards.

Thanks I was just picking the flower off and not the spike. Now the ones I planted up for Chrisy gifts will look better Christmas Day.

Thanks for the great video. I planted Petunias for the first time this year and love the results. My growing season is nearing the end here in Ohio but the Petunias are still looking healthy and in full bloom while the rest of my plants are withering. I look forward to using your advise next year. Once again...Thanks

My petunia flowers are got fade and it looks like its dying. Thank you for great video, I have learnt a lot how to maintain petunias from watching this.

Now that I know this minor, but important tip, for cutting back 1/3 of the petunia, I will try this next season. I prefer collecting the seeds from my Petunias and planting them the following season. I have had lots of luck with my seeds, and look forward to planting/starting my own plants.

I think your video is very good but I would like to know when the season as done do you need to buy new ones again
Thanks Chris . -
my petunias were drying and dying when we came back from camping, when i watered and trimmed as i remembered this video(thankyou 😉) now it's like new and rejuvenated, am so happy, they just keep on blooming ☺

Very good video. Great info. Thanks.

Watched "How to Revive Petunias"....excellent, clear, concise! Thank you!

Good video. Eliminate 3-400 "uh's" and it would be perfect.

The greatest piece of advice for me was the dead head removal. I did not know you had to remove the ENTIRE DEAD FLOWER HEAD, and not just "pull" the dead flower out!! I will try and cut my petunia down a bit, to see if I can get more life out of it before Autumn. It's now the first week in August, so I hope I haven't left it too late to give them a good trimming to get more flowers. Thank you so much. I will see what other videos you have, as this one was straight to the point and very informative. I will know how to treat my Petunias next year!!
