I've seen these for years, but though they were inedible. Many of these trees are planted in New York, including along Shore Boulevard near Astoria Park in Astoria, Queens.

Absolutely love mulberrys. the season just started for me in North Florida. one thing to note. It doesn't bother me, but they are invested with bugs. if you're going to use them to cook with, soak them in water multiple times and the little bugs will all float to the top of the water

Mine starts coming in late March till June. Right now my backyard is full of mulberries on the ground. I have one red that becomes black and another green that becomes white. Last few days I have been taking to work to give to friends.
Very sweet flavor. But the tree grows like crazy. I need to trim it. -

if nobody takes care of it, it will grow tall as a tree. If someone farms it, it can be bush. When I was little, farmers use the leaves to grow silkworm. In my memory, they were bush in farm field, but trees around our house.
We have mulberry leaf tea for lower blood sugar if anyone is interested. -
Haha, talk about back to nature. You look funny up in that tree.
