How many months should you wait to trim your split ends again?

I get trims every 3 months at the salon. after each trim my hair is back to the length that I started at. Ive informed my stylists that I am trying to grow it out but they also suggest regularly trimming. what should I do?

im trying to grow out my hair. it's been medium length for my entire life. I always wondered why it wouldn't grow and now I know it's because I used heat everyday. I'm going to completely cut out heat. thanks for these tips :))

You are the ONLY one talking about how to grow hair that has mentioned we all know our hair. For me, my hair grows faster, is softer, is healthier when I wash it everyday. I tried washing it every three days or so and my hair wash its unhealthiest, dryest, and most damaged. Of course, I am a serial brusher. I brush my hair every 15 minutes or so because it feels like it tangles when people look at it! 😀 I use heat because I am growing out my fringe, but try to limit it to just my fringe, but if I do decide to do more to my hair, I use heat protection.
