How to Grow Tomatoes without Buying Fertilizer
Tips, Tricks
We grow tomatoes without store bought fertilizer by building the soil with compost, worm castings, mulch, compost tea, and nitrogen fixing cover crops. The tomatoes featured in this video are Sweet Millions: http://amzn.to/2azFTlO One Yard Revolution is all about growing a lot of food on a little land using sustainable organic methods, while keeping costs and labor at a minimum. Emphasis is placed on improving soil quality with compost, mulch, and compost tea. No store-bought fertilizers, soil amendments, pesticides, compost activators, etc. are used. Also, your highlighted bar with your comment on the video is so light the wording is hard to read. Can you make the words appear stronger.

how long do you prepare your soil bed before planting your tomatoes?

Super-fly video man. Have you heard of semi-indeterminate tomato variety? And should those suckers get cut off? I would like to see someone post a video that shows both types of tomatoes, especially at harvest time. When multiple tomatoes (like more than 10) bloom on a throng, is that an indication they are determinate? I'm seeing tomatoes that grow in bunches of two, or three thus far. I'm wondering if this is an indication that it is indeterminate, though the package said "semi-indeterminate"/

Hi. how do you maintain pests?
-
Why do you overhead water? It's bad for the plants.

Have to be patient with the biochar , a couple of years and then you really get to see the
benefits. -
As I review this one-year-old video I'm thinking how wonderful it is to see your gardening practices evolve. For one thing, I notice that since posting this video you have abandoned the use of compost tea (consistent with not only your own trials but always with most of the scientific literature I've been able to find). Another thing that I noticed is that at the time of this posting you show that you were digging in worm castings into the soil. Am I correct in assuming that you no longer do this also (that is, consistent with your later "chop and drop" approach)?
Thanks again for your efforts, -
Always good info.

My husband and I hope to increase and improve on our composting material. Other than adding azomite to the soil, I believe a good compost and lots of it, can pretty much provide all the necessary nutrient that our garden needs.

Amazing looking tomatoes!!!

I like your tomatoes especially considering how hard it is to grow them right here however I liked your video even more because it includes some trialing. Since this video how did the biochar amended tommies in contrast to the others (despite their lesser stature) perform in terms of fruit production?

Good looking garden!

Great video, I am wondering if you saw any differences in the beds during the 2015 season. Thanks for the videos and your time.
