HOW TO GROW MELONS
Tips, Tricks
http://learn-how-to-garden.com Although having a wonderfully exotic taste musk melons and their derivatives are no harder to grow than a cucumber. Easy to grow outdoors as they will scramble across the bed, a better use of space in the greenhouse to grow them up supports. If you do this you will really need to support each individual melon and this film shows you a simple way to do this. Mark Abbott-Compton Ten Minute Gardener

Question---Do cantaloupe come back next season, or do I have to replant?
Thanks -
Thanks for the info!
My problem: My cantaloupe seem to be doing OK. I have vines and flowers. But unlike my watermelons, where I can easily tell the difference between the male and female flower, with my cantaloupe I am having a difficult time knowing which is which since they all seem about the same to me. We have very very few bees or bumble bees here, so I must try and pollinate by hand.
Any thoughts?

nice video, my melons have not ever fallen off yet. los angeles, ca. they hold just fine if you try it. it is a climbing or ground plant depending on environment and if has opportunity to climb it holds like superman.

This is my first year growing melons. I have planted two watermelon (about 6 inches apart), a cantaloupe, and honey dew (about 6 inches apart)....The cantaloupe are the most aggressive! What happens when the watermelons split open? They are on a trellis, but have now grown along the ground. Why are those on the ground splitting???
