If I already drilled holes on the bottom of the container, do you still reccomend drilling hole in the side?

You need to prune, probably why you have to fertilize so much, all the nutrients are going to leaves

Add Epsom salt to a gallon of water& spray yr tomato plant in the early morning, this helps give it magnesium as needed. Plus give you much more healthy tomatoes. Good luck!

I potted tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets and at that time did not realize that after watering the soil level will go down. Now my plants are in flowering stage. Is it a good idea to top up the container with more potting mix now to cover some stem?

Gary-i saw one video that suggests drilling holes on the bottom of the bucket, and filling the bottom with pebbles/medium rocks-what do you advise? Next is my seedlings are in individual 4-6" pots placed on south face driveway in Denver, but it gets so damn hot here i have to water them sometimes twice daily to prevent wilting-should i place them in my north face covered patio where they can get sun after 3or 4 pm?Also-when do i transplant them into buckets, that is how tall should they get? Thank you for your expert advise.Perry.

I need some clarification please. I'm planting indermonate tomatoes in 5 gal buckets. my mixture is 50% top spoil, 50% cow manure, 1/2 cup lime, several shovels of peat, 1/2 cup vermiculite, 1/2 fertilizer.....is this right? should I be using more vermiculite? perlite instead? the soil is very rich. I can't use my ground soil cause it's all sand. I live in florida.

Hi Gary, the soil becomes hardened after raining for 2 weeks and how can I soften the soil? My concern is if I use fork, I might damage roots.
