Figured I would comment here while I had the thought: I once grew a 28lb watermelon, with a sister 24lb watermelon, and I was living in Nova Scotia by the ocean at the time. Ever since that happened, I've always wondered how cooler Canadian temperatures during the summer compared to, say, Florida summers, could have ever produced an edible melon, let alone two.
Your videos are making me want to try a bunch of different plants and see what actually takes root. It looks like so much fun. 😆 -
I found them very easy but I am a wholesale nurseryman with 55 years experience. I have raised 100 from the golden Kiwi fruit. is there an easy way to find which are male and female? Have you considered taking cuttings of your seedlings to speed the fruiting process?
I know that taking cuttings off Rhododendron Hybrid seedlings when they are very small makes them flower earlier ( the chemical balance inside the plant is changed...different hormone levels) -
Avocado isn't that hard to grow. If you plant it flat side down with the top peeking out, keep the soil moist. It's gonna grow unless the seed has been sterilized. Kiwis are hard , though. I will try your method. Thanks for the info.

I really like your videos. Concise, informative without rambling! Couple of q's: would there be enough time for a kiwi to produce fruit where I live in southeast MO? Also, I had a huge banana plant (2 yrs old - I loved it!)...but a sudden hard frost killed it before I could get it in the house. If I cut it off will it come back, or will I have to buy seeds/start over?

Now I see a few of your videos from time to time, just curious to know. Where do you keep all these plants? You must have a really great plant collection.

Vines. Not trees.

Clean those seeds by leaving in water for a few days, flesh will rot- then rise through tea strainer(same way to preserve tomato seeds)
