She should have never kept it in that pot for that long, now it's full of root deformities and she planted it completely root bound! Another self professed expert.
Use a knife cut the base of the root system off, then run your knife vertical down around the whole circumference, making cuts about 1 inch apart, then free the root system.
Thank god she isn't tasked with growing a forest, the company would go bankrupt. -

Wow....you even pronounce jalapeño correctly, not sure why this word is so hard for people to say. Anyway I now am going to grow my jalapeños exclusively in pots as they do better than the ones in my garden. Could it be my soil? not sure....but with pots I can move them in shade in the summer when it's too hot and take them in at night in the winter. I live in Louisiana so they can survive the winters and come back HUGE when it heats up again. Pots are the best way to grow them...
