I planted impatients seeds 20days ago and they're still not germinating! They are in a flat with a transparent plastic cover on them, I make sure they are always damp. The seeds are fresh seeds from a new packet. They are in my bedroom on the southwest facing windowsill. The room is 18ºC. Is there anything I've done wrong? Or am I being impatient?

What kind of inpatients are these? and do you have a good seed source?

I really enjoy you videos,, my plants are about 1 inch and there green and look alive but they just do not seem to being growing like expect there in medium to start seeds should I ad some fertilizer and what kind or are they just slow growers. So I planted impatiens from seed 12 days ago and they have sprouted to 1/4 inch, after they sprout how long do I leave them under the lights I used to germinate them

Help? I planted Wal-Mart impaitiens seeds in two different huge pots. First we put in the gravel rocks then the organic planting soil with the compost that was included in the bag of soil. The front of our home faces east. We get a lot of shade on the front porch. I moved the pots to a place on the front porch that gets sun a few hours a day. We live in Colorado. Do you think they have a chance of sprouting and growing in flowers? Or should I dump it and start over? Thanks for any gardening help.

Diane I love your videos. Can you do one on watering. I either underwater or overwater. I can't seem to get it right. Any tips or suggestions?

I just started some Shasta Daisies and Impatiens yesterday. It is about 8-10 weeks before the last frost currently. -
Did you know that impatiens walleriana provide a generous supply of free seeds?
It's not necessary to replant impatiens in zones where they act as annuals (i.e., in zones where they die after a hard frost). At least with impatiens walleriana, the seeds that they have self-sowed before dying will grow in the following spring IF the soil bed is undisturbed. It's okay to remove the dead plant by cutting dead vegetation at the soil level.
See my clip on how to get free seeds: How to Harvest Free Impatiens Seeds: http://youtu.be/Oaj5i6BgUPI. If you collect seeds to plant for the following Spring, you must separate the seeds from the pod and let them dry before storing them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. -
Very nice. Thank you!!

yes I believe so however I haven't grown them from seed.. but they are too water sensitive at seeding stage... propagation is easy root them in water... no video however.. but it works well I have done it.. no I don't sell seeds at this time.. thanks for connecting.. and so sorry this is late I miss comments sometimes..:)

thank you, yes they are indeed tricky seeds.. but I manage to usually get enough... some varieties germinate better than some..

I tried Impatiens seeds for the first time this year and only 5 have come up from an entire seed packet! Tricky indeed! I usually have really good success with my seeds but these just didn't work well for me. Love your videos!
