I have used Scots for at least 35 years and I follow what they recommend. People stop and ask my wife and I how to grow a good lawn and we tell them to follow the Scots lawn procedure. We are in Mastic l.i. n.y. Barbara and George

FYI: Along with the top soil add some PEAT MOSS which acts like a sponge, and holds water like a reservoir for the roots of any plants. Not only will it help germinate your seed it will also provide additional water for the future lawn.

I have had nothing but disappointment with Scotts grass seed, the blue variety, and Scotts must know it's no good because they credited my account at Home Depot for 2 -7lb. bags with no questions asked! I wish this gentleman would have lined up his border pavers, they were giving me anxiety watching them and a small area of dirt for 20minutes

Piece of advice, Ez seed is a waste of money, too expensive for seed/fertilize mix, better off buying a big bag of seed and fertilizer
