HOW TO GROW CITRUS PLANTS
Tips, Tricks
Growing Citrus can be tricky as they like lots of light, feeding well in the growing season but dont like to be kept wet, but they are tough and even very poorly specimens can be revived. Lemons and Oranges are great to grow purely for scent and the odd fruit but my favorite is Kaffier Lime as its an essential ingredient in Thai cooking and almost Impossible to buy fresh and the fresh leaves add so much more to a dish when used.

Hello I have a question is it true that u put the seed in the water till it sprouts roots then u put it in the soil?
-

Great video!! I love how you did not skip a beat when the dog was around. Looking forward to more great instruction. Cheers!!

I agree with the wet feet killing them.....I killed so many that way......using pot feet is also good.....adding perlite gives good drainage and aeration and drilling extra drain holes with a masonry bit is good too......start small and build up or you will crack the pot....the terracotta helps roots breathe but i am in aussie...so i use plastics now.....used terracotta when i was in nz.

Can u show us how you fertilize your citrus tree please.

This is the best citrus video I've found. Thanks. I'm also looking for a video on pruning indoor citrus trees in order to keep them 4 feet or under. If I grow my citrus trees in a mixture of coco coir and perlite, will the General Hydroponics MaxiGrow and MaxiBloom provide adequate nutrients?

Today I saw 3 kaffier lime leaves in Supermarket for £1.50 !!!!
grow your own and have endless supply -
Does the same apply to an orange tree/bush? Mine lost all of its leaves whist indoors, then new shoots formed from the stem, the end then went brown as though they were burnt, and the leaves then dropped off again.
Currently it just looks like a stalk, but I don't think it's dead. I have a well insulated loft with velux lights and I was thinking about putting it up there for the winter. I'm in S.E. England -
what is the tree behind him ?

Hello Mark, I like to say how Wonderful you videos are. You have helped me with my chilli plants but know I need some advice on my Kaffir Lime Tree.
I bought her online 2 weeks ago, she is 24" high from soil level, and in a 9 " clay pot.
I came home last too nights and there are one or two leaves around it on the floor, I am worried.
Should I pot on to another bigger pot? if so how big can I go, can I put it in the sun all day in front of my French doors, I have a south facing garden full sun all day ish.
Thanx again Mark.

Thank you for video. I've just got into gardening indoors, so your videos are great.
PS your dog is cute -
Hi Mark, Is there an alternative for leaf mould that I could use? I received an kaffir lime plant this Christmas, which I'll have to pot on in spring.

Thanks for some really good tips. Especially the lack of light problem. I am surprised you did n't mention that they really do not like lime and that an ericaceous compost and rainwater is a help. The dogs are beautiful, they look so happy and relaxed. I always enjoy your vids they are informative and not too long! Best wishes and a Happy Christmas.
