that was terrible. does not explain how to grow them at all

Hi, can you tell me how much water do it need?

It is hard to start them early in the season from seeds unless the weather is warm and sunny. If they look frail they are not getting enough heat or sun. I would place them in a warmer sunnier spot and if the weather is still cool just wait. You can trim them at anytime to encourage new stronger growth.

I've been growing chives in the kitchen all winter. They are amazing to just snip off a bit and munch on it. Don't even need a salad or anything else. Great burst of flavour.

Yes, you can eat the flowers and it doesn't matter if you harvest before or after flowering, the leaves taste great...Thanks for the love from Canada! Sending love back from the other Vancouver, in Washington state!

They will go to seed and multiply by seed and by root. They multiply quickly both ways...

Vegetable oil and olive well work well on aphids spray your plant down with oil in a spray bottle and give it a day or two and then water well... Wait a few days and do it again. You can always cut the plant down and spray and let it grow back... Please find us on our new web page howtogardenvideos and on Facebook and Twitter!

there is a purple flower on my chives, can I eat the flower? should I harvest before flowering? blessings and much love from Canada

You can cut them all down to the white base of the plant. I would plant them a few inches apart but give them enough room to get larger and multiply. The more room you give them, the bigger they'll get. Keep gardening naturally.
