How to Grow Carrots 101 - Seed, Pests, Disease, Harvest, Use in the Kitchen! Complete w/ Examples!
Tips, Tricks
You could grow an entire garden of just carrots and harvest something different everyday! They come in all kinds of colors, sizes, and shapes and are loads of fun for the kiddos too! They can turn any meal into a rainbow of colors. I will show you how we have been growing carrots for the past 5 years. My instructional growing videos are very thorough, I don't walk outside with a transplant in hand and read to you what I found on the Farmer's Almanac website. LOL I will show you real footage from my home gardens, my experience growing a specific plant. I show you planting from seed, feeding, harvesting, problems I have had, and how I use it in the kitchen. You will not find another gardening / food channel who shows you the information you will find in my How to Grow videos. I hope you find the video helpful and enjoy watching it. Hello, I have some carrots growing in containers right now and it's been about 100 days since I seeded them. Can I leave them in the ground longer? I checked them and they are tiny still. Do you know why they are growing so slow? The types I grew are supposed to be a medium size carrots and I am in a zone 9b.

Thank you so much for your complete guides. I wish there were more than 10 tho coz I have no seen all of the one for vegetables. Do you think you will be doing one for tomatoes anytime soon? I am just starting up and your videos are so helpful.

@Rainbow Gardens have you ever tried growing kohlrabi?
-
I don't know if it is just me but I hate growing crops that are a one time harvest. I would rather put plants in my garden that will continue to bear fruit. But if I had extra space in my garden then I certainly would!

Your videos are wonderful. I'm so glad I found your channel.

Love the video. Very informative and thorough. I'm doing mine in containers this season as our soil is too rocky.

just grab some thread/string and some brad/finishing nails and drive one into the top of the wood every 12 inches along the perimeter of your garden box. then just weave the string along the nails. Garden grid: done.

thanks for the information. For how long will carrot seeds remain viable? I found an old packet of seeds - it must be a couple years old. Will these grow if I planted? thanks

can't wait to start planting this spring. Thanks for the helpful video. I was wondering what soil you have in your garden?

You can freeze your carrots.. just make sure they are in a good thick freezer bag to avoid freezer burnt. (I double bag them and they cook up great as if they were fresh.)

What a great "carrot" video! I came back to watch this again. I couldn't thumb it up again. LOL Great advice for anyone wanting to grow carrots. I may have my first good crop of them in the months to come. It has taken MANY tries. Our weather is so weird here. I'm in zone 7b. But, on the cusp of 7a and 8. And the bizarre weather doesn't help with that. Sometimes are temps seem like 6b. LOL I've got some in containers right now doing really well. For any of you that are frustrated with carrots....keep trying. I am one of those that always hated raw carrots. Only ate them cooked all my life. Until I tasted one I GREW. WOW! I can eat them outside right out of the dirt now. (washed of course) I started to grow them for my daughter who LOVES them. Gardening is such an adventure. I had no schooling on this except the "want to" factor. I'm in my third season of serious growing. It's so frustrating but, SO rewarding. I can cook. But, growing what I cook has been one of the hardest things for me. "Carrots" were hard for me. So, anyone reading this....I hope this helps you not to give up. Great video Donna!!!
