In this video Sally Nex explains how blueberries can only grow in the ground in acidic soil with a pH of 6.5 or lower. If you have neutral or alkaline soil, she explains how you can use pots with an ericaceous compost instead, specifically designed to have a pH of 6.5 or less. Sally gives some great tips for how to achieve the perfect environment for blueberries at home, showing how you can put a liner in your pot to keep it water tight, with a few holes cut in to allow for drainage. An easier option could be to put a plastic pot inside your terracotta pot instead.
