If you have a bouquet with different roses, just follow this.
1. Try to obtain fresh roses, which is probably likely work the best.
2. know that all methods of getting new roses isnt 100%, so you may lose a couple or all of your cuttings, so dont feel discouraged.
3. cut a diagnol cut near a node and cut off most of the leaves from the bottom and middle. Make sure you have a large stem, preferibly between 8 and 12 inches, but the longer the stem, the better it will look.(you can prune them to look like tiny trees! :D) Keep a very small amount of leaves on the stem at the top. im not sure if it will root without leaves but ive never tried.
4. Use a sterile knife or scissors to score the bark/stem of the rose. this will help in more surface area to create more roots. DO NOT SCRAPE TOO DEEP. Dip the wound/cut into rooting hormone, or honey if you cant find any. I prefer the rooting hormone.
5. my native soil is quite sandy and drains easily, which is great for roses. i put my cuttings outside during the middle to late spring, early summer, and watered twice a day. if indoors, pot it using native soil or prepared soil. water once a day/make sure the soil stays moist, but not soggy, which can cause rotting.
6. the last step is patience. the cutting can take a couple of weeks to grow roots, so if it looks like it isnt doing anything, dont worry. if planting outside, tug on the plant at around 3 weeks, then every week after that so you can feel any resistance. if the plant is staying put, it has roots. So if you want to, you can dig it up, and put it in a permenent spot.
I hope this cleared up anything confusing. -

Loose the music. Speak simply about what you wish to say. What the heck to do you mean by a "kidney" on a rose cutting? I can guess but I should not have to. Kidney is not a term used in horticulture that I am aware of. This is unclear about exposure to light, temperature, or much of anything.

so u have to wait until the bouquet wilts?
