How to grow a Magnolia Tree from seed
Tips, Tricks
In this video I show you how to grow a Magnolia Tree from seed. These seeds must go through a stratification process before sowing them so please watch my video on How to harvest and prepare Magnolia seeds before sowing by this link here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MurDULnt41k This is IMPORTANT because Magnolia seeds need to go through a Stratification process for a minimum of 3 months before they can be sowed. Really neat video, growing plants from seeds is very rewarding. I hope you and Sean have a safe move. It's a lot of work. I am planting dozens of mammoth Russian sunflower seeds, and they are all sprouting. I'll make a video of them soon. Have a wonderful day, Keith in AZ

Hi! Thanks for the video about Magnolia seeds Lin! I put magnolia seed to stratification too. over two weeks, they have three months in refrigerator. I'll see what comes out . After that I think I will plant them in a pot, put in direct sunlight and cover them to have the greenhouse effect.

very pretty tree they are already blooming here in NJ

Good lucky. Happy gardening. xx

I love magnolia trees. :D My grandfather had one when I was a little kid, and I recently moved to an area with a bunch of them (and gorgeous crepe myrtles, too). I don't have a yard at the moment, but this is making me wonder about cultivating one as a bonsai. Good luck with your move!

Great video Lyn. Hope the seedlings flourish, and knowing you they will! Just wondering, will your new house have a greenhouse?

Hi Lynn, do you know what variety they are?
I have a superb Magnolia Loebneri Merrill in my back garden. It produces a mass of white flowers within the next few weeks. Unfortunately it won't stop growing and after many years, it looks like I will have to prune it soon 😂😂😂
I love Magnolias......one of the few plants that flower before producing leaves.
When does the big move start? 😱
All the best........Nigel -

I just watched your preparation of the magnolia seeds. We really don't have much of a backyard for a magnolia tree but I do love their flowers! I hope your moving day goes smoothly and stress free!
