can you put molasses in your compost ?
-
Mother's unsulphured molasses is also a good source of calcium and magnesium which all plants need not to mention how much cheaper it is than buying Calimagic.
-
Exactly-- But simply said molasses feeds the microbes in your garden soil, the same as in a compost brew. Im getting read today to feed a mix of fish emulsion, maxicrop liquid seaweed, and molasses to my tomatoes. Never tried this mix before but will be interested for the result.

You mentioned sulphared mo losses can raise the acidity levels , would that not however make it ideal for acid loving plants ?
-
Can cheaper granulated sugar be used?
-
Wouldn't this attract a lot of ants?
-
Thats two ounces or 4 tablespoons a gallon for the measurement impaired. ;)
-
Better to put it on your biscuits !
-
how well does this work with Peppers?
-
Great! Ya we know by experience it is amazing. But we used dry molasses (molasses treated weeds). So we learned how to use Granma's molasses :-) from your video. Thank you!

While I appreciate your efforts in posting this video I find your recommendations rather silly without a field trial to show that the application of molasses is really worth one's time and effort. Show me results that compare, under identical conditions, that actually improves productivity. Gotta admit that I liked your talking points and analysis of how it SHOULD work ... but of course I also find other videos promoting things like rock dust, biochar and the myriad forms of compost tea, entertaining.

Thank for free info
-
will this help keep pests away? specifically caterpillars? and did you say it needed to be unsulphured or sulphured? Thanks!
-
as an indirect source, how long before seeing results to the plants, a week or more?
-
Good for cannabis too.lol
-
Thanks for the tip. How often do you apply the molasses?

Hello MIgardener. Thanks a lot for the tips on organic fertilizers. I live in a tropical place and I want to start with my own organic garden, but I wondered if throwing something sweet to the ground will not be a problem rather than benefit to attract the common ant or the terror of the gardens, the dreaded "cepe" (Atta). ¡Saludos! :)
