I live in Canada and grew a lemon tree from seed, which is growing in a pot. I've been fertilizing it twice or so a year by using blended pine needles. We used the same technique on turnip seeds in my science class once. The seeds grew three times as fast. (Since trees were a bigger plant, this method would have a somewhat slower effect because trees take longer to grow.) It seems to work well. What does it mean if the leaves are red-tinted when growing, but turn completely green fully grown?

It's about time for my Meyer Lemon to flower in city centre Houston. Hope for a good crop this year now that I know about Leafminers and their control.

Thank you Nicholas. I have an Orange tree that I have been trying to get to fruit, but with the Denver dry air, a bad bout of scale and my nephews and niece I have not had much success. I will definitely give it a good feeding.
