A truly horrible how-to guide, height line...sure,because they never sag, bamboo canes to mark where the holes are going....erm why ? just measure out and dig as you go, the posts will land where they land, unless there are services in the line, is knowing exactly where the post go beforehand really that necessary ? Putting a brick underneath....yup, because then you know your fence is way to high. 3/4-1 bag of postcrete...of course, because that will hold the post in the ground come the first wind.putting the panels onto the posts before setting...great idea,if you like not being able to get around the post to set it properly. This is a terribly backward guide put together by people without the first idea of how to put up a sturdy fence that will last.

For a book with projects that's free, Woody Hyezmar's Bible is basically good…, this project reminded me of his book somehow, search for it on the web!

I am planning on doing this in my back garden, the garden is just a back yard at the moment and I plan on putting in a pond and building a brick trough all around the run of the fence and fill with topsoil and compost, then pave around the pond and the sides of the brick troughs then put some grass on the remainder, what do you reckon, I need some advice lol
-
No need for a whole video on this, you just need to gently rub the fence's balls...
-
truly awful instructions. over complicating one of the easier diy tasks. bamboo canes? basing your calculations on a panel being exactly the same size? no consideration as to change in terrain topography? no gravel board to improve the longevity of the fence and a presenter who gurns his way through the video looking like hes sifted through the lost property box for his ensemble - as for your patio demo bandq?!? such a poor effort from the UK's largest DIY retailer.

I have so many problems before I can do this, my neighbours tree branches are in the way & we've fallen out so I wouldn't dare ask him If I can cut them - how can I slide panels in from above because of this? :( I can't go into his garden because we're not talking plus he has a load of junk against the existing chain link fence & it's pushing over onto my side where I want my fence & I also need to run my fence along side some if his existing wooden fence, the reason I need my own is because I want to grow things up mine or nail up bug houses so I can't touch his in case he complains. It's taken me 5 hours to dig just one hole so far :( & now I watch this for tips & I have more Q's lol

Why don't you put the cement in the hole first, then simply add the water? This would eliminate the dust.

I just walked away from a fence job for a friend . She wants to save the wisteria and all the weed vine that she claims to be clematis ... it is not .. only weeds and not to damage the day lilies that she calls a garden . invasive plants only... I started removing the rotten fence that has building debris piled against the other side plus the builder nailed support beams to it for power lines .. ........................ I understand you should use stones in stead of cement to anchor post because it will rot the post . The stones hold very good and allow for drainage

I don't think you stress the importance of having the posts line up straight horizontally. This is very important, otherwise the fence will not be straight and will not look good to the eye.
