How to Effectively Spray Cucumbers for Pests and Disease Management: Schedule & Products -TRG 2016
Tips, Tricks
It is best to spray cucumbers and all your vegetables before pests and is diseases arrive. Cucumbers often get spider mites that live on the undersides of leaves. Many types of fungus start on the undersides of leaves. So... spray the tops and bottoms of the leaves every 7-14 days. I show you the sprays I use, the hand pump sprayer I use to make this so much easier and the technique. (I said 1 teaspoon of neem oil to a gallon of water. It should be 1 tablespoon to a gallon of water) Follow me on Instagram for 60 Second or Sow videos and Gardening Tips... https://www.instagram.com/therustedgarden/ Join My FaceBook Gardening Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/262500970619372/ Check out my vegetable gardening blog: The Rusted Garden. Hello.
Thanks for all your tips and advice.
I started using Neem Oil after watching your Need Oil video.
First I used Neem Oil on my lime tree. The leaves had signs of some sort of caterpillar with holes in the leaves and caterpillar tracks. The leaves are also curling.
So I sprayed the leaves with the Neem Oil and soap mix but the leaves seem to looking worse.
There is a lot of new growth and maybe a hundred pea size limes. But the leaves are looking very unhealthy. I have been fertilising every 3 months. We just had a very very wet winter here in South Australia were we had lots of hail and the soil at some stages was drenched. Not sure if this has anything to do with the lime tree, but my tomatoe plants, cucumber plants and chillies are struggling this year as well. Our winter has been so long this year that we not getting a spring. Feels like we're going to go from winter straight to summer.
Thanks for your time. -
I got a pump sprayer, neem oil and biodegradable soap on Amazon. Bugs are eating my pumpkin leaves, zucchini, etc. Thanks for the tips.

Have my cucumber transplants in the ground now about 2 weeks. They are not doing well and it looks like something is eating them from inside the stem. Any suggestions? Love your channels, Marlene.

Hey Gary, thanks for another great video! I searched all the comments below but couldn't find if you said which brand of Spinosad you used? I just went to HD & saw only one product with it & it wasn't 100% spinosad (wasn't sure if it's even supposed to be 100%?!?!?) Thanks!

do i need to rinse the cucumber after an hour or 2?

Gary, since you spray the soil, have you noticed any decrease in earth worms?

hi there. thanks for the video. I am in Canada and am wondering if these products are safe for mason bees or honey bees. I have an aphid issue....

Where did you get the pump sprayer?
-
Don't you have to worry about using neem oil when the temps get above 85 degrees and it burning your leaves?
-
I use them both only mixed. Great use of the sprays and advice!

Can you give more info on the spinosad you use. A search brings up a wide range of products.
Thank you -
I'll have to try spraying more often. I've been on a 4 week schedule but see I will get better results every two weeks. Thanks!

I am planning to sow 2 acre cucumber and 1 acre tomato under the bamboo tunnels. would you recommend the use of these sprays in winter months under the plastic. Also if you can recommend good seeds for cucumbers , parthinocarpic varieties all female flower, need about 35000 seeds.

I have problems with the tomato sucking bugs. they are buzzing bugs like a wasp, about an inch long, dark in color...how can I treat them? I've tried neem oil mixture and DE..doesn't effect them. I live in central Florida.

Thanks for this!!! It's perfect timing for me. We're in almost the same zone. Do you use these sprays before or after watering the plants?
