I have tried Niger for years with no bird taking them .I have the best results with Sun Flower Hearts ... the Gold Finches ( which we never had before ) flock to the feeders which we have hanging on the Hawthorne .Peants , Dried mealworms , suet morsels and rasins on the bird table and on the floor feeders .

An alternative to peanuts is peanut butter. I have a three inch diameter, eight inch long piece of wood that was cut from a broken branch in which I used a Forstner bit to drill four holes going down the wood in a zig-zag pattern. I fill the holes with peanut butter and some birds can't get enough - especially the woodpeckers.

Great video. I try to film the birds coming to my garden but cannot achieve the quality that you do. May I ask, what camera are you using for the video?

i learned more in this 10 minute video than i have in the last month, i have had great luck attracting birds to my backyard and i hope to qualify as a bird sanctuary in the future but this video pointed out some very big mistakes i have been making, and now intend to fix, thanx very very much! subscribed and like!

Do you suggest doing this in a woodland where im going to remove the feeder later ?

Brilliant advice-a lot to learn. Though I've been feeding birds for past 3 years-discovered quite a few changes. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice video. I encourage people to avoid feed mixes. They tend to cause waste, as each bird will throw out the seeds they don't want. I have a peanut feeder, a nyger, a clingers only, and a suet log for woodpeckers. Enjoy!

What a lovely they are. In addition, i want to take a feeder on my front house but i really sure that someone will take his gun and shoot em down. I live in a non-friendly animal 😒
