Okay - not trying to start anything with anyone. It's a good vid.
But the info on coffee grounds being acidic is incorrect. Coffee grounds are a great buffer (meaning they're great at maintaining their own pH before changing, which means they usually force the area to be at their pH). However, their pH about 6.7.
While that's technically acidic, it's not enough for acid-lovers. But that doesn't mean coffee grounds aren't fantastic for the soil. There's plenty we do to our mixes and gardens that raise pH, and the addition of a buffer is just what they need. And because coffee grounds fit almost every bill you want in an amendment (cheap, plentiful, reduces waste, supports microorganism growth, doesn't rapidly break down into clay) - it really is the bee's knees.
Add a touch more Nitrogen if you go heavy on the grounds, though.

I keep two coffee tins on my shelf. I dump used grounds into #2. They go into my "premium" compost barrel with a handful of pine bark.

I haven't looked into it, but I confidently assume (after using bagged composts when my own supplies run dry) that most top-end bagged composts are little more than starbuck's waste and alfalfa cuttings. (Looking at YOU, Purple Cow). -
Good question, I have some potting soil that I put some sea bed sand on top of to get rid of digger gnats, how do I desalinize it?

Thanks for the advice! What about spraying plants with diluted coffee and epsom salt? I've heard about compost tea, does that work equally well?

Don't add undecomposed coffee grounds to your soil unless you want those deteriorating grounds to leach nitrogen out of your soil.

can we use coffee grounds on tomato plants
-
does the coffee ground need to be rested? or fresh used coffee ground is ok?
