I've got a little miniature species hosta, Hosta venusta, that I got off Ebay last year. It is frickin' adorable - the individual plants are around 3-4 inches tall by about 5-6 inches across, and the flower spikes are about 10 inches tall with small violet flowers. This is a pic of my small clump of H. venusta with a Zippo for scale: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1015208625201443&set=pb.100001369447767.-2207520000.1466235898.&type=3&theater

I live in Ontario, one 5 and hostas grow like wildfire here as well. We've had temperatures down to -30c. Tough as nails!
-
Love me some Hostas! The variety seems endless. I have some large ones, but I had not seen the dwarf ones. So awesome!
-
Hostas will also grow in zones 5 & 6 quite well. I have lived in both zones for decades each and my hostas do very well.
-
Beautiful! Are they growing in full sun?
-
Nice plants! What is the ground cover plant you have growing by your mini-hostas and is it easy to maintain? I have problems with slug damage latter in the season. Do you have a good solution to eliminating them?
-
They were hardy in Nebraska/Omaha/Lincoln which is zone 5a, 5b.

wow! That I didn't realise how big that first one was! :P Thanks for sharing, very informative.

We had minus 26 C and all of the hostas made it. They are Hardy!
-
Here in PA which is zone 5 to zone 6 hostas are very hardy.
-
I'm in USDA Zone 5b in Mid Missouri. We get temperatures down to -2 F in winter and highs of 102 F in summer. Hostas do great here also. Great looking varieties!
