Diy homemade howto make Pesticidal oil using canola oil,Its a all safe natural Garden insecticide, pesticides, It provides insect control all year. It's perfect for indoor and outdoor plants and home gardens. Mix 1 cup canola oil with 1 Gallon water in a sprayer, shake well, and apply to plants. It protects against common home and garden pests, even in egg stage, with no need for re-treatment for 1--2 weeks if needed. Ideal for roses, fruits & vegetables. 1tbs dish soap and 1tbs cayenne pepper and 2tbs conola or oilive oil and a gallon of water works good

if you really want to cheap out, use the old oil out of a deep fryer. pass it through a paper towel as a filter 1st though. works for me.

Commercial white oil has chemicals added to make the canola and water stay in a quazi-mixed state. Putting a cup of canola in a sprayer with water results in the canola floating on the surface of the water. Because the sprayer "takes" from the bottom you are spraying neat water. When you empty the sprayer you throw out all of the canola oil you put in. The bugs will love you!

Does this work on Geranium and Petunia??? Im getting tired of these worms eating my flowers. BT doesnt work. I was thinking of throwing away these plants. So much hassle with these worms.

I have been using a mixture of garlic and jalapeños very successfully, but this looks easier and it won't make my hands itch when I spray. Thank you! :-)

I would like to know how this does on curbits and squash? My concern is would it cause burning later from the heat of the sun. Let me know how it worked on your plants.

I saw "spider" in the title and was like, why would you want to get rid of the spiders?
then I realized it said "spider mites" -
this is for trees only , rancid oil , not for vegetables will taste like crap!
Older farmers also used diesel fuel, i say stay clear of these non eco logical.

I am wondering if we can use another type of oil? I only have olive oil and vegetable oil on hand, I am going to try the vegetable oil, olive oil cost too much, until I get canola oil!
