high light on a planted aquarium tip and why i use it
Tips, Tricks
planted aquarium. what lighting to use in a planted aquarium planted fish tank aquarium tips. i use high lighting on all my planted aquariums and i fell you should as well. why i feel if you have high light on a planted aquarium you're not cutting out plants you may want in the future. low light plants grow great under high lighting crypts,nana,ect... im not saying you cant have a planted fish tank with low light you can and they look great but in my opinion there is too many plants that wont grow or wont grow properly and thrive in low light planted aquarium http://www.youtube.com/user/Mrmomtanks http://www.firedupaquatics.net/

Bright lights pretty significantly negatively the vast majority of aquarium fish; just be aware of this. I run a 38g Blackwater tank with mid lighting with great success. The health of the fish is more important than the speed of fauna growth.

great video bro.... so let's get to the basics. 29 gallon 2 foot T5 light fixture with 2-6700K tubes, it looks so much better than my old cheap led's. 10000K vs 6700K?.... 6700K over shadows 10000k in every spectrum therefore being pointless to even have. so there you have it folks 6700K is de perfect Kelvins for a high tech planted tank

hi
I started a planted tank 7gallon(27)liter tank.I have put 36 watt 6500k light.pressurised co2 and ei doosing.but still plants not growing at all.should I increase the light or what to do.thanks for ur sugggestions. -
I've a con. Algae! Your points are valid, but running high light (PAR not silly WPG myth) narrows your margin for error hugely!
Lighting is also the catalyst for the other main requirements of a healthy planted tank which are carbon (liquid or gas) and ferts. Dose ferts and carbon as per recommended for your tank size and the only element to then control is photo period via your lighting. Too high a light can create issues that too low a light won't. (Apart from slow growth)
At that stage, simply increase lighting period to maximise fert and carbon uptake.
Planted tank light colour temp, or kelvin, is another myth too. Plants don't care. Choose a colour temp you like. -
What is that light fixture on the fluval nano?

Do you think one finnex ray 2 48" would be enough light for a heavily planted 55 gal?
-
Do you keep all you tanks uncovered?
-
Can you give me suggestions on what you use? Or what should i use for my 20 gallon?

Hi, NJW1383 sent me here saying you would be able to give me good advice on a light setup for my tank. My tank is a 45 gallon curved glass (aqua one ar850) and I would like to know what fixture I can put in my tank. there are a few factors that I have to consider: It has to be a 2ft unit (my tank is an undersized 3ft) and I can fit a 2ft into my standard hood with a bit of cutting and I want it to be high light! Also what is your opinion on the Oddysea units? Cheers :) (btw I subscribed :)

High lighting is true, but ya forgot one specific part of it J. Spectrum plays a huge role in how plants react as well. Some plants like white lighting, others favor the red to blue spectrums. I like that you keep it simple with the DIY CO2, that's awesome and proof is in your aquariums. Good vid man as usual

Now that Finnex LEDs are so cheap people could get top of the line for cheap! We are living in the future people. LEDs are capable of growing plants and cheap to buy!
