Hi, I have mint plants and this is the first year that my mint has flourished and lived for many months. I want to protect them as it gets colder but I can't bring them inside because I lack space near any lighted areas. I thought about a mini sheltered greenhouse but I live about 20 feet from the bay and it gets really cold when the wind comes off the water.

Doesn't mention anything about problems. I've bought 3 plants this year and all the leaves go silver and brown and die within weeks. No idea what to do.

how long would it take a single mint plant to spread about 8 feet

What do you do when it gets rust spots, which is susceptible to the mint family?

On Pinterest, I learned that if you cut the bottom off of a large nursery pot ( the cheap flimsy ones) and burry that in the ground, it serves as an excellent "spreading boarder"

As a southern Californian amateur gardener, the greatest problem I have with mint right now is grasshoppers. But back when I just started growing it, it started to aparently die off, however this may have been due to poor soil conditions, overwatering, and improper sun conditions.

What kills mint? Snails? I cannot grow mint in northern California.
