sweet! Our neighborhood groundhog ate all our lettuce and some of our Kale, a winebarrel would create a great obstacle for him. I'm growing tomatoes and basil in a hay bale. It's finally taking off and no hay seeds have been popping up to my surprise. potting soil and manure in a hole in the hay bale I cut with a serrated knife... I like raising the plant up and the barrels are cool 'cuz I bet they could be moved with a dolly. Thanx! I'll look for wine barrels!
@growingyourgreens i noticed your drip system, but i just thought of making a wine barrel earth box.
Will make one soon. Will be called "sustainable harvesting"
craigslist. Hardware stores sometimes sell them also.
