My wife did a garden for several years. First in planters and then in a raised bed (but still on the ground) thing we got from Costco. It was fun and my son loved it. We've talked about building a off the ground bed so it's not as much bending over and I think if I did, she would do it again. We had our best luck with peppers here in Texas.

I have to agree, planted about 8, 3 in pots and 5 in the ground. The ground worked best but all in all they did well. Smaller variety but they produce. The pots suffered from to much rain fall in Illinois. I have a remedy for that next year.

Jim, wow, just four plants produced dozens of tomatoes! They look plump and delicious! This is proof enough that you don't need a lot of land and a huge garden! Good show!
