Hi, i have transplanted my broad beans from the seedling mini pots to the soil just few days ago but they are getting yellowish from the bottom going up.
Since it has been raining a but in the past days, would that be an overwatering problem? -
I grow broad beans and love them, but i'm always a little confused as to what to do with the plants once you've harvested the beans. Do you pull them out and shake off the nitrogen nodules? Do you cut the stem off and leave the nodules in situ? Do you leave the whole plant to rot down?
Any advice please? Thanks in advance. -
Hi watch your videos quite regularly.
I live in a tropical climate in Trinidad which is near the equator. I am trying to grow broad beans. Do you know if they will grow in partial shade indoors. I have an air-conditioned space which can go to 17 degrees ecclesia, but only get about 2-3 hours of sun through a large window. With your weather what temperature ranges do you have and when is your planting time for a good harvest. And how much sun do the plants that produce well normally get during the day. I am assuming they get watered every day. -
great vid, but the 'music' killed it, sorry.

Would love to see more from the kitchen garden, Will and the team do a superb job, seasonal video tips would be great to watch. Loved the time I spent with them last year.

Pleeeeese! cut the music out guys!

i have never heard of broad beans here in Canada. i will definitely try to source some to sow in my garden this fall. i would also love to see a video tour of the river cottage gardens.

SSo cool, more garden videos please
-
Agridulce, thank you. I LOVE favas. Beautifully done.

He pushed his glasses up a billion times, nice video though.

I for one would love to see a lot more of the River Cottage kitchen garden. It has really been a bit overlooked, which is a shame considering how amazing it is!
You should do more regular updates on what is being sown now and growing tips, but more importantly, what is being harvested now, and ways to use it! Jamie Oliver did a great thing with his Jamie at Home series, but I'm sure you guys could do even better ;-)
A general tour of the garden would also be great... Just walk around and explain what is where, how and why everything is laid out, etc. -
Water is in fact a chemical ;)
-
Do you really need to adjust your glasses so often?
-
Thanks Will. Nice beard! I'm into Beetroot at the moment. What do you have for me on them?
-
Great to see a video from the growing side of things, and for us southern hemisphere viewers it's also perfect timing for sowing Broad beans :)
-
Thank you, this is a lovely idea. Growing in small spaces would be awesome.

Lovely stuff. I just hate preparing broad beans with pinching them out of the shell. Maybe I need some gullible children for that task. 'It's not tedious work children, it's fun! Look how they pop.'

I loved the content and I loved Will - a very wonderful and watchable video. I grew up on Titchmarsh and he had some great things to say but his manner always grated on me! You Will, are a breath of fresh air 😍 Hugs from Somerset UK

Cool tips, but maybe you should focus on doing these things before sowing season? And could you come with some tips for sowing in window boxes?
