Growing Squash and Zucchini in a Raised Bed or Square Foot Garden.MP4
Tips, Tricks
In this video I show you how I've grown both squash and zucchini in two 10'x3' raised beds, as well as a 4'x4' square foot garden. One difference I made in the advised SFG technique was instead of planting each plant in the SFG one per 3 sq. ft., I planted it one plant per 1 sq. ft. Either way as of June 7, 2012 I am getting produce that is WONDERFUL. Take a look....

Showing how to plant squash and zucchini in a raised bed are such a good deeds! However, gardening is not that easy, but we should be thankful enough for this learning tool inorder for us to know the basic knowledge specifically in growing such plants.

I had no problem last year (from this video), but this year I did put the 2 squash at one end and the 2 zucchini at the other end. Thanks for watching!

do you get problems with cross pollination?
-
Cut some of the leaves back....the zucchini/squash don't really need that many

how big do you let the plant get before you put the tin foil on? and also are these crookneck squash grown from a single seedling are can there be more than one like cucumbers?

Awesome thanks for your reply. We have a ton of bees in our yard because of our flowers too. Are you posting videos of your garden this year?

The bees pollinated them, but I have a lot of flowers and herbs to attract bees in my garden in addition to the vegetables etc. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for this video, I'm square-foot gardening for the first time this year, In fact gardening for the first time this year LOL. I just bought some squash plants, Six of them, And this will definitely help me put them in my beds. Did you have to pollinate them yourself or did bees do that for you?

Mixing flowers that are companion plants will make it look pretty. Also adding something tall like okra adds a nice contrast. Thanks for watching. :)

Beautiful garden... This helped me alot as i step out of container to ground or raised beds. I've seen massive [messy] gardens in the area and wasn't ready to take that on in the front yard. Thanks. ;0)

Thanks! The tin foil worked. Last year my plants were destroyed by the squash borers.
