Why do you boil the runner beans first? when you boil them all the vitamins are gone.
if you freeze them just after a rinse and dry i assume it is better.
as well you can put them in the freezer on a tray that none touch each other, when they are frozen put them on a bag (this way you gain faster freezing time, so it reserve all the goodness) , this method is good for berries as well. -
I can my beans. I wash, cut then put into glass mason jars with a bit of salt and cover with boiling water. I process them in a pressure canner. They are so delicious.

I don't know anyone that grows runner beans in the U.S., we grow string beans. Many different types, and most have no strings either, but after we remove the top and bottom like you, we either leave them whole, or cut them in half. Some do cut them up but no one I know does that. So nice to see how others do this. I hope to try runner beans next year, and I already ordered them. Thank you for the video, and the information on runner beans. I think we are going to like them.

why don`t you cool the beens down by giving them into cold water, at least. Icy water is even better. That`s the way the frozen food companys do it.

Not the Alderman peas. They lost some of their sweetness after being frozen. I have blanched them 5 minutes, maybe that's a bit to long.

Maybe I should write in the correct comment box :) We have mills to cut runner beans. I can't find any english name so if you google 'snijbonenmolen' (dutch) you can see how it looks. So handy :)
