what is the best way to plant runner beans eye up or down
-
I just planted out my climbing french beans this last weekend. They think that they are weeds, they're growing so fast. This year I'm growing turkey craw, purple podded pole and gold of bacau. Dwarf are Trento, Burre de roccencourt, and a new cross that is early as well as cold wet soil tolerant(my own). We love beans. I may plant some runner seeds that I bought this spring, but not until fall as its beastly hot here in summer.

I'm not a great fan of runner beans myself. I don't mind the odd boil of them. I do like the French climbing bean though. Still using last years harvest from the freezer!!! Good tips great video. All the best. Chris.

What variety is everyone else doing? I'm doing; rattlesnake, painted lady, & scarlet emperor.

Lovely update Sean

Don't you keep your seeds at the end of the season. I haven't bought runner beans for years and always get an incredible crop

Yup - I agree with Sheila about the tip. ! supposed you could apply it to anything you plant outside - instant successional sowing! Thanks Sean.

Very Nice! and I also love the tip. I would never have thought of planting a plant and a bean beside it. Great idea! Thank you.
