Hi Sean. A question about rhubarb. Never grown it but I bought a crown in the Garden centre about 5 weeks ago. When unpacked it was completely featureless. Could not tell up from down. No shoots, no roots. So I buried it shallow to see if it did anything. Up to today,5th March, nothing showing so I did a Time Team careful excavation. Bingo. It has a shiny green /yellow, very smoothe and round feature on one side, so it lives. Is this the beginnings of a root or shoot? Any ideas? Thanks for all the entertaining vids, with built in info too. I am, you guessed, a beginner and in the Midlands.

Thanks for the tip Sean.

I have moved my crowns this year so i think it will be a bit slower getting going this year.

I'm green with envy, it's below zero here, and we have 8" of snow on the ground right now. I am getting my seedlings started, so seeing your rhubarb reminds me that spring WILL COME, maybe later, but it is on the way. Thank the Lord.

If you get a chance, try Rhubarb/Strawberry pie.
Absolutely delicious. (and you don't need to add so much sugar.)

They are a beautiful color.

I wish I knew this when I had rhubarb in my garden. I'm glad you can at least see the plants. Here in the Boston area we are still buried under 4' of snow. Your garden videos help remind me that Spring is coming.
