Cantaloupes and watermelons can be grown in containers if given the right conditions. I use a moderately rich potting mix supplemented with compost and place my containers in a location that gets as much sun as possible. I do save the seeds from the heirloom varieties, thus I keep these plants as far as I can from other varieties to avoid cross pollination. Plants shown in this videos are the Jubilee Bush Watermelon, Minnesota Midget Cantaloupe, and Halona Cantaloupe. I am also growing Tuscany Cantaloupes on trellising in a raised bed.
