Can you please list the materials you used?
-
have you tried a more compact method?
ive recently started an indoor garden for the first time and my spacing would be about half of what you have maybe slightly more...
do you think the lettuce will still flourish? or is that much room really needed? -
Thanks for the video! Gonna start my plants soon!

how do I know when to harvest it I am growing green oakleaf lettuce?
-
Thanks

Sorry but this gives no tips for how to pot up the tiny fragile lettuces or what to do when you have several growing intertwined, too delicate to separate. Or when to put outdoors or anything useful at all.

I have planted 2-3 seeds per jiffy pot now i have a whole bunch of stringy leaves? what is wrong with my lettece and how do i seperate each plant when it looks like i have grow them all out of the same seed?

Maybe it's the soil. What kind do you use?
-
Mine I sorta tall and lanky. What should I do?

Thanks for sharing this video with homeowners.

This is not a very good way of growing this type of lettuce. They can grow a lot closer together

Thanks for the informative video.

nice.

maybe you added something else to your soil? try not to over water anyplant maybe unless its a seed. but only water a plant when the soil is dry.
-
That's quite a difficult question to answer because of so many different factors, but what I would suggest if in doubt is to use a moisture meter the one I use has a scale from 1 being dry to 10 being wet, ideally lettuce should be at 5, if watering checks out to be OK, then it could be due to inadequate lighting.

how often do you water or how do you tell when they need water? How much water do you add to each plant? I think I over-watered mine and they are dying...or else my light(i'm growing them indoors) isn't strong enough.

Thank you for commenting, so you are gardening for the first time, I hope you have much success, nothing beats the taste of fresh homegrown lettuce:)

I am so glad to find this video. I am gardening for the first time, and lettuce is in the ground too. It was a great video to see how I'm progressing.

Its strange how in every guide to growing lettuce out there nobody mentions the issue I have evry time which is the seedling grows 2.5 to 3 cm tall flops over and dies if not repotted with soil buried upto its neck. Happens with cos and iceburg but maybe it is the UK weather and lack of sun here 99% of the time.
