So much fun digging up tubers, and potatoes, and pulling carrots too, while I'm thinking of it. lol. I haven't tasted a sunchoke before.
-
I am so jealous of your borage. We try to grow it here in 8b next to our tomatoes, but it struggles to do well.
-
Just harvested my first JA's and will do with them what you suggest...roasting them which chicken for dinner tonight.

Hi Kaye, That was a great crop. A friend let me 'adopt' a few of his spare JA tubers this week. . It's too cold here in Ontario Canada to put or leave them in the ground in Fall or Winter. I cannot wait to plant them in the spring I am going to put them in a big 45 gallon container where I had successfully grow cucumbers this year. Wish me luck! Desmond

After looking high & low, I finally have a few J.A. an online friend sent me! A video I watched several months ago, showed the 'chokes being peeled before cooking. Do you think they would be even better after peeling or a waste of time?
-
Nice video as always, Kaye. I have grown these for 3 years now. I got them too shaded this year and need to harvest my Moringa to make more sunshine for the Sun-chokes. I will also try the simple baked recipe.

It's called "The edible garden " by the way 😊
-
Kaye, you would love Alys Fowler video on Jerusalem artichoke, she says in the UK they call them fart it chokes, but there's a way of cooking them so you don't gas up your entire garden😂😂
-
do advertised jewelry or presenting sun choke plant?
-
Great narrative...I am about to plant some in South Australia....I understand about the need to contain them. But am really looking forward to getting a bumper crop
-
As always great videos love and enjoy thank you for sharing. like and thumbs up :-)
-
Just ordered some for planting. Can't wait to plant and taste.

: )

That's a wicked oven!

I've been tempted to grow these but I have a fear of all things potentially invasive! My husbands grandmother planted Bermuda grass seeds here 40 years ago and I've been fighting it (and losing!) since we moved here 6 years ago! Although here in SW Oklahoma it almost takes something invasive to survive our crazy weather lol
-
wow there are wild parrots in north america still? nice to see there back!
-
Awesome pretty lady Kaye! I'm gonna give these a try, thanks for Sharon's link!
-
How do you just eat plants so easly without cringing? Also your garden is amazing i wish i could be so organized on my garden
-
I planted some this past October. Keep your fingers crossed they sprout! I caught one of my dogs trying to dig one up the little booger. I had to rebury it.
-
Looks like the turned out great. Do you think the stock of the plants could be use to stake up tomato bushes? If they were dried out?
