I use green onion around brassicas and basil with my tomatoes.. these two seem to go together as permaculture companions. The tomato also takes on the basil flavour.. NICE!

I plant both Nasturtiums and Marigolds in with my broccoli and have very little problem with cabbage worms. One year I planted Nasturtiums in a window box and that is where I had all the worms. None in my vegie garden. Works wonders and you can eat the Nasturtiums as well.
