Growing Goji Wolfberrry plants from seeds & propagating cuttings.wmv
Tips, Tricks
Why are Gojis good for you? Because they detoxify your body. My Goji or Wolfberry plants are growing tall enough for me to harvest. They grow nicely in the Northeast of the US. The plants produce red berries later in the season. The berries are highly prized as they have a lot of antioxidants. The soup made from the leaves are believed to be good for the eyes as they detoxifies your body. It's best to incorporate the berries into food recipes rather than eating them alone. It's been reported that Gojis can have a blood thinning effect. The better berries come from Tibet and in your own backyard if you don't use pesticides. You can grow the plants using the seeds from the berries. Soak the berries and take out the seeds and start them in pots. Take them outside when they are a few inches tall and they will be there year after year. You can also propagate them from the cuttings. I made a video of using the berries and the leaves and here's the Link: http://youtu.be/gn1Z-tAf-mQ

Those leafy perennials did not come from goji berries. Two different thing.

Thank you! I have a gogi berry bush growing in a very large terracotta pot in my Orlando back yard where it enjoys sun and partial shade most days. I planted it from a seedling I purchased on line about 17 months ago. Though the plant gives me little purple flowers I have not yet gotten any fruit. I understand that it could take three years. I water it every day, and have fertilized with Miracle-Gro.

does this variety produce fruits?
or it's only for leaves? -
Very good and informative video. I like your manner very much: you are easy to listen to. I have L. barbarum I just got. Ground here is very hard because we have a drought for almost ten years now. I want to grow it in pots so I can move it to shade when it gets 115 degrees for weeks in the summer. What should I use in the pot to plant it so it will bear fruit and make lots of leaves? Every place I look online seems to say something different. Thanks--BTW, I subscribed so I can see more of your vids.

My plants have become long, about 12 inches, but they are very thin, and they are hanging down. Should I cut them at some point? They have been in my window, but have taken them down because I was afraid they were growing too fast because of the sun... ?

any reason your title is growing chia plants ????

thanks, for the video, I have 3 Goji Berry plants growing (started from seeds, that I got over the internet). Your video really helps.
I was timing up a Pomegranate (Wonderful) plant, & as a after thought, I bundled up all the rather small branches (that look like the ones you cut off, although I left the leaves on them (that turned brown & fell off)) & planted them in one whole together, & what do you know some of them put out roots & started to grow. After a about 8 months I separated them off into 4 plants.
I now have a 'Angle Red' Pomegranate plant also, that I hope to propagate the same way, although I will plant the steams separately.
I'm glad to see the Goji Berry plants will do the same, & that I can eat the leaves. I'm trying to grow my greens to eat, & do it with out to much work. Thanks again. -
Anyone want a goji plant? I have them! Just swing by and give me a holler! =)

Sorry I don' t know the difference. Mine was given to me as cuttings 15 or more years ago s and they have grown nicely. This year though is not a good year, maybe it's the weather.

Wtam do you know about the difference in uses for Ningxia (lycium barbarium) vs the variety you have ( lycium chiense)
