Growing Ghost Peppers (Update) in Pots - Bhut Jolokia, Habanero, Trinidad 7, and Cayenne
Tips, Tricks
Three weeks later and the peppers are really starting to come in bunches. It has been a very hot and dry summer, but the peppers love growing in their pots. As a whole, they have grown stronger in partial shade (not full sun). In the full sun, they suffered badly from mid-day wilting, but thrive in the shade. Most of the peppers in the video are green peppers, but also included are Jalapeno, Hot Red Cherry, Cayenne, Habanero, Ghost Peppers (Bhut Jolokia), and Trinidad 7 Pots/Pods.

Sir, you have amazingly healthy plants. You either have the proverbial green thumb or you are well informed as to how to grow these gems. What part of the country are you in? What kind of soil do you pot them in? What do you do against pests? Please advise sir...clearly you know what you are doing and your input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Can you tell me what rate of fertilizer you used on your ghost and scorpion peppers? Like 10-10-10 or more or less? Thanks. I am growing them for the first time and not sure but do not want to kill them. Thanks

Currently growing Carolina Reapers which I had to order online as seeds. Doing well so far in our arid Sacramento spring. Just found a ghost pepper clone today at Home Depot of all places and put in in a big pot. I'm excited. Thanks for sharing the vid.

You did good moving them to the shade. It's a common misconception that peppers need full sun. Peppers especially love shade in the late afternoon. I use a piece of lattice to give mine partial shade right around (or just after) 3 p.m. It still gets some light through the slats, but is shaded from the brunt of the suns heat. Also, you will get a lot more fruit with bigger pots.

You might want to separate where the plants are since they might cross pollinate therefore making the hot peppers not as hot
