We planted some common milkweed seeds last fall. Some of them came up and are now winding down after their first spring and summer of growth. I love milk weed the fragrance of the flowers is wonderful. There might be a long red bug on the plant which is a milkweed bug. Don't kill it.

swamp milkweed is much prettier in bloom than the common.... also food for monarchs

Great plant for Butterflies but don't let the seed pod open next year or you will have a garden full of them. the seeds are like Dandelions and the wind spreads them everywhere and there are thousands of seeds to one pod. Cheers.
