Cool. I would like to see what they look like when they are going to seed.

I would think so. I never had cauliflower mature yet. I have tried to grow it the past 2 years, with no luck. To much wood in the compost last year and bad seed starter mix this year, but I'm going to give it a try this fall, again.

With anything new I do I usually do part of my seed as per usual and part with something new so I can gauge the result. I did it with some of everything I started from seed. Onions, leeks, tomatoes, peppers, squash, corn, peas.... everything. Across the board better results. Has something to do with the magnesium giving the photosynthesis process a jump start.

Thanks for the info. I am going to give that a try next time. Sound like you had great results doing it that way. Have you tried that method on any other type of seeds?

This year I experimented with pre-soaking my seed in a 2tblsp epsom salt to 1 gallon room temp water solution overnight. The difference in plant health as opposed to seed sewn directly or even seeds pre-soaked in plain water is pretty dramatic. The root mass and vigor or my espom soaked plants blew the non epsom plants out of the water. I won't be doing it any other way from now on!!!!!!

@texgardener1 Thanks. I live in zone 7b. I will transplant them near the end of March. I planted early because I will be growing them in a small greenhouse I just bought, before I transplant them in the garden. I will be doing a video around the begining of March on the greenhouse. I'll be doing alot of new things with the greenhouse this upcoming season. Stay tuned.

Wow, already?

I like your system for planting seeds. What state do you live in and what zone are you? When will you put the broccoli transplants in the ground?
-
@baconsoda Thanks Brendan. This way you can transplant the strongest and most heathiest plants into your 6 packs. It's just a litlle more work, but you end up with primo plant in your 6 packs. I do it with all my plants I start indoors. Well worth the extra time.

I think that's a super way to start seed because I use a lot of compost filling loads of trays and sowing seeds singly in cells. This way is more economical, less wasteful and a lot quicker. Super, I'll be doing this too. Best Wishes, Brendan.
